Assistant Professor position in Foundation Drawing, Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT -- The Program in Studio Art invites applicants for a visiting half-time Assistant Professor position in Foundation Drawing beginning fall 2019.This is a 3-year term position. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to teach two classes of Foundations Drawing in the fall term and a four-week Foundations Drawing class to be taught in the January Winter-Terms of 2020 and 2022.Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellent teaching and scholarly potential.The Program seeks an artist with demonstrated abilities to teach core principles of drawing to liberal arts students: how to apply drawing as the basis for codified expression andvisual-communication. The classes taught must deliver content relating to a broad constituency across the College's curriculum. The Program In Studio Art is an active, cross-disciplinary, materially based teaching curriculum and welcomes artist-applicants from all areas of visual art able to participate within a liberal arts environment. Demonstrated knowledge of traditional analog drawing processes required as well as, but not limited to, interest in new media, installation, painting, video, audio, performance, hybrid, and emerging art forms.
