Description:

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions will support and manage the daily and seasonal activities for Pratt graduate admissions within the office of admissions. Primary responsibilities include managing admissions staff, monitoring databases, processing, print and web content, and the collection and distribution of content for graduate programs and certificates. To achieve enrollment goals, the Associate Director will work closely with faculty, administrators, internal and external representatives and partners, applicants, and current/prospective students at Pratt Institute.

Duties and Responsibilities:

MANAGE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:
  • Supervise graduate admissions processes, managing communication and efficient application assignments at Pratt Institute.
  • Monitor progress towards enrollment goals, maintain resources, and provide training on admissions processes.
  • Advise on scholarship strategy, regularly assess supervisees' performance, and oversee admissions presentations.
  • Handle a high volume of materials, collaborate with directors, and perform related tasks as assigned.

ENROLLMENT AND RECRUITMENT - Working with department representatives and admissions:
  • Track and report on enrollment activity regularly.
  • Manage various admissions projects, including fellowship applications, scholarships, MS project, onboarding outreach, and recruitment plans.
  • Analyze reports to assess admissions policies, and collaborate on recruitment strategies with the Director.
  • Conduct research to stay current on trends.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned.

EVENTS - Working with the Director of Recruitment:
  • Attend, recommend staff, and manage admissions events for the graduate programs.
  • Assign travel to graduate admissions representatives.
  • Monitor and update web pages related to events.
  • Monitor and approve travel spending on counselors' PCards in SmartData.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

COMMUNICATION/SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES - Regularly liaise with admissions staff:
  • Regularly update Directors and staff on progress of projects.
  • Elevate issues in real time to Director, admissions staff, or relevant offices.
  • Maintain accountability and best practices for staff.
  • Foster professional development.

LIAISE WITH PARTNERING DEPARTMENTS - With administrative offices:
  • Maintain transparent and timely communication during workflow overlap.
  • Initiate communication.
  • Regularly vet student experience/processes with partner offices and develop solutions.

TRAININGS/MEETINGS, DOCUMENTATION/SOURCE MATERIALS:
  • Attend yearly refresher sessions for grad admissions processes.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Develop trainings for staff as needed.
  • Monitor print and web resources.
  • Updating publications, including Viewbook and Online Catalog.

All other relevant duties may be assigned, and processes, methods, and databases for this position are subject to change.


Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred, Art background preferred.

Experience:
  • 4 years in higher education admissions.

Skills:
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in word processing.
  • Spreadsheet and software applications.
  • Train new or entry-level employees and make recommendations for office procedures/policies.
  • Ability to implement, introduce, and adapt to new working processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and info.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.

Salary:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $75,000 - 75,000. The position will be onsite 5 days/wk.
