Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director, Digital Community Engagement leads the strategy and implementation of digital engagement on NetworkUSF, the university's online networking and mentorship tool for alumni, students, faculty and staff.

Full Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Director will grow the NetworkUSF online community by developing and implementing new communications efforts, sourcing information of interest to each group, and assist in making connections with members of the platform. The Assistant Director will also identify and lead projects, programs, and communications targeting greater engagement in each of the online groups. This position will also co-manage the Alumni Mentorship Program which is housed on the platform.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ARE:
  • Review analytics of the platform, including but not limited to reviewing Google analytics, tracking metrics in NetworkUSF, review feedback ratings, generate reports as needed, assist in Salesforce Affinaquest data migration, partner with Prospect Development to code relevant information needed for portfolio building.
  • Create engaging content for users to interact with, such as: generating posts for main discussion board and group discussion boards, tagging volunteers to post on discussion boards, refreshing resources site-wide and for groups, editing site wide banner as needed for USF initiatives
  • Build strong campus partnerships to promote NetworkUSF, and market events and programs
  • Increase overall membership on the platform on an annual basis.
  • Mange five industry groups housed on the platform by recruiting, onboarding and training leads, managing content, planning events, and maintaining communications for each group. Group Management
  • Serve as the primary contact for PeopleGrove, NetworkUSF's platform provider and attend community webinars and be up to date on all enhancements and recommendations
  • Manage NetworkUSF users by:
    • Sending and creating welcome emails to new users with invitation to join groups based on interest
    • Monitoring connections and messages
    • Upholding community guidelines
    • Sending reminder emails for unanswered connection requests and incomplete user sign ups
    • Approving new users
    • Supporting marketing content to recruit alumni and students to join the platform
    • Work with interns to manage user experience
    • User training and onboarding
    • Support customer service requests and follow-up on feedback
    • Help build the volunteer and donor pipeline to identify engaged alumni members and reporting back to Development
    • Manage user type for recent grads
  • Assist in running the Alumni Mentorship Program (AMP), including segmented communications for sign-ups, assist with matching alumni mentors with student mentees, curate monthly newsletters for AMP participants, deploy surveys to gauge participant satisfaction, provide customer service as needed.
  • Perform other activities as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree with a preference for candidates with advanced degrees.
  • Five years of increasingly responsible work establishing programs and events that serve to reconnect and connect alumni to their alma mater.
  • Volunteer management experience
  • Demonstrated skill in building relationships with volunteers and helping them to lead efforts
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with alumni of all ages and demographics.
  • Project management expertise and the ability to prioritize and manage overlapping and competing deadlines.
  • Team orientated and comfortable with change; a strong habit of collaborating but also capable of working independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with direct experience writing marketing copy for college graduates.
  • Ability to travel, and work evenings and weekends.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • An understanding of and appreciation for a Jesuit education is preferred.
  • Proven track record of building online communities
