Job Description Summary:
The Instructor of Robotics teaches courses within the robotics curriculum, oversees the robotics lab, and provides curriculum direction for the robotics program. Instructor is also responsible for providing mentoring and general advising to students within the robotics program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach all major courses within the robotics curriculum including Fundamentals of Electricity, Motors and Motor Control Circuits, Advanced PLC and Motion Control, Industrial Robotics Vision, Robot Integration and Automation, Microprocessors, Electric Communications, Industrial Robotics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Process Control Instrumentation, and Digital Electronics.
  • Teach effectively both theory and laboratory (hands on) robotics courses.
  • Oversee curriculum, recommend changes, and keep content current with industry standards.
  • Maintain advisory board and participate in annual advisory board meetings.
  • Review and recommend budget and capital expenses for program to Dean.
  • Develop and retain relationships with area industry experts and employers.
  • Obtain or maintain third party certifications like FANUC certifications.
  • Assist in the recruitment of students into robotics and other advanced technology curricula.
  • Perform professional obligations. For example, judge area First Robotics Competitions.

    Required Qualifications:
    Associates degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
    Three years of experience in field.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree or Masters degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
    Teaching experience.
    FANUC or other third party certifications

    All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
