Job Summary
Assesses and orients students entering training programs as required by the college, the local workforce development board or other funding entities, advises students of training options, recruits students for training programs, and provides instruction in workforce education subjects that positively impact job-seeking/job-keeping skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses students using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Career Occupational Preference System (COPES), Basic Education Skills Test (BEST) or other instruments as deemed appropriate for workforce development activities for Community Campus programs on campuses and at community-based sites
Recruits, counsels and supervises students in job development classes
Identifies and secures unsubsidized employment for students including establishing a positive relationship with local employers and enlisting their support
Develops and maintains individualized employability plans for students
Coordinates with academic instructors and implements the training component for workforce education training that will impact student's job-getting/job-seeking skills
Advises students on career based on assessments and makes appropriate referrals to college training programs, both credit and non-credit
Conducts periodic visits to student's job sites to discuss progress with students and employers
Maintains accurate record keeping concerning students in accordance with established procedures for the college and/or funding entities
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with experience in counseling, employment and training or career development with college, county, or state workforce development entities
Current Texas RN license, or ability to obtain prior to hire
Three (3) years of directly related non-teaching work experience, with two (2) years of nursing experience within a long-term care facility
American Heart Association CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
Three (3) years teaching experience
Experience with computerized systems
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
