CU Boulder welcomes applications for a Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator! The Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for developing, editing, publishing, and managing content across the Division of Operations' digital communication channels. Operations Division units include Employee Health and Well-Being (EHWB), Human Resources (HR), the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Office of Information Technology (OIT), and the Office of Compliance, Ethics and Policy (OCEP). Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, this position serves as the primary content creator and coordinator for divisional websites, newsletters, email communications, social media platforms, and other digital communication channels.
This position plays a critical role in translating complex operational initiatives, campus projects, services, and programs into engaging, accessible, and audience-centered content. The Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator collaborates with divisional leaders, subject matter experts, and campus partners to tell the story of the Division of Operations through strategic content planning, writing, editing, and digital engagement.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor with experience managing digital communications, social media strategy, content calendars, and website content in a fast-paced environment. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Content Development and Editorial ManagementSocial Media Strategy and Management
- Research, write, edit, and publish content that supports the Division of Operations' essential communication goals.
- Develop articles, feature stories, news updates, project highlights, employee spotlights, and other written communications for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and transform technical or operational content into clear, engaging, and accessible communications.
- Serve as an editor for divisional communications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, quality, tone, grammar, and adherence to university standards.
- Maintain editorial calendars and coordinate content production schedules across multiple communication channels.
Website Content Management
- Develop, schedule, publish, and monitor content across divisional social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Create engaging social media campaigns that promote divisional initiatives, services, projects, sustainability efforts, employee achievements, and campus impact.
- Manage social media content calendars and coordinate messaging across platforms using Sprout Social.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to inquiries or coordinate responses as appropriate.
- Track performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
Email Marketing and Newsletter Communications
- Manage and maintain divisional website content to ensure information is accurate, current, accessible, and aligned with communication priorities.
- Create and update web pages, news stories, announcements, and resource materials within the university's content management system.
- Recommend improvements to website content organization, readability, and accessibility.
- Monitor website analytics and surface insights to inform content decisions.
Digital Communications Support and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and distribute digital newsletters, email campaigns, and targeted communications using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Write and edit email copy that aligns with communication objectives and audience needs.
- Coordinate content contributions from divisional units and partners.
- Monitor email performance metrics and recommend improvements to engagement and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about trends, emerging technologies, accessibility requirements, and standards in digital communications and social media.
- Recommend new approaches to enhance audience engagement and storytelling.
- Support divisional communication campaigns and special projects as assigned.
What We Can Offer
- The annual salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, or a related field. An equivalent combinations of education and professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Two+ years of progressive professional experience in content development, digital communications, social media management, marketing communications, or a related field, including demonstrated experience creating and managing content across multiple digital channels.
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing professional communications for diverse audiences.

- Proficiency in Canva for social media graphics, email headers, and other digital content assets; familiarity with additional image editing platforms such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Express is a plus.
- Proficiency in Sprout Social or a comparable social media scheduling and management platform.
- Proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable email marketing platform.
- Knowledge of website content management, digital publishing, and social media standard methodologies across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Understanding of audience engagement strategies and content performance metrics.
- Familiarity with digital analytics and content planning tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and due dates simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
